Accreditations & Licenses

MSS recognizes the critical importance of meeting the highest standards to ensure quality testing and regulatory compliance. We strive to meet and exceed those standards, providing our clients with reliable, reproducible results from diagnostics, clinical trials and research assays.

GLP Compliance

GLP compliance involves the development and implementation of consistent controls for sample processing, equipment and process validations, training, audits and document control.

MSS complies with the Standards Council of Canada’s Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles for every project where GLP is required. Our labs and facilities are audited by FDA and private regulatory agencies regularly, with uniform success.

CAP Accreditation and CLIA Compliance

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) Laboratory Accreditation Program is designed to go beyond regulatory compliance, helping laboratories achieve the highest standards of excellence. 

MSS' designated labs are accredited by CAP, and have voluntarily participated in CAP external quality assurance programs for more than a decade.

CAP is an approved accreditation organization for the purposes of CLIA (any laboratory that is accredited by CAP for an approved specialty or subspecialty is deemed to meet the applicable CLIA condition level requirements for laboratories found in 42 CFR part 493).

OLA

Ontario Laboratory Accreditation (OLA) is operated by the Quality Management Program – Laboratory Services, a division of the Ontario Medical Association and is funded by Ontario's Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MoHLTC). OLA is mandatory for all licensed Ontario medical laboratories. The principal function of accreditation is to help laboratories deliver high- quality, efficient laboratory services. MSS' designated laboratories have been granted full OLA accreditation.

ISO 15189

ISO 15189 Medical laboratories — Particular requirements for quality and competence specifies the quality management system requirements particular to medical laboratories. Mount Sinai has been granted ISO 15189 accreditation status through the Standards Council of Canada.

MOHLTC

Mount Sinai has been licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in Ontario to provide a wide range of testing services.
