Dr. George Fantus is Professor of Medicine and Physiology and Associate Dean, Research in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is a senior scientist at the Toronto General Research Institute, Director of the Core Laboratory of the Banting and Best Diabetes Centre, and associate scientist at the Samuel Lunenfeld Reseach Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Fantus is a leading figure in diabetes research and education in Canada, with research interests in the mechansim of insulin signal transduction and a specific focus on insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes.
