Dr. Thomas Stewart led Mount Sinai’s Critical Care Unit for 12 years before taking on his current role as Physician-in-Chief and Chief Clinical Officer. He is a Professor of Medicine and Anaesthesiology at the University of Toronto. He has also served as Director of Critical Care Medicine at the University Health Network. Dr. Stewart’s research has largely revolved around the conduct of large scale clinical trials in mechanical ventilation, with focuses including ARDS and ALI, Lung Protective modes of mechanical ventilation and unconventional approaches to mechanical ventilation.
