Laboratory Services
MSS bridges the gap between routine clinical diagnostics and complex research. Sinai Health is one of Canada’s largest central laboratories, and MSS is front and center of this vast network with access to over 2,000 assays and capabilities of processing thousands of tests annually. With a specific focus on biochemistry, histopathology, and molecular genomics, we offer end-to-end solutions to support clinical trials and research, ranging from test development, assay validation to genomic services. We empower our clients to advance their clinical development whether it requires conventional testing on high-throughput automated lines or specialized immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry; we can deliver rapid, reliable data to meet your specific needs.
Compliance and Accreditation
MSS is a full-service laboratory holding internationally recognized, gold-standard accreditations. We operate in accordance with Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) standards and have a strong track record of successful regulatory inspections, including audits conducted by clinical research organizations in compliance with U.S. FDA requirements. Our quality framework includes:
- College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation: We hold CAP accreditation for a defined scope of testing within the MSS laboratory.
- Accreditation Canada Diagnostics (ISO 15189 Plus): We offer accredited testing within the MSS lab for specific tests listed within our scope of accreditation found here.
In addition to our accredited menu, MSS facilitates clinical testing to support diverse research and clinical objectives. Supported by a distinguished network of internationally renowned pathologists, board-certified clinical laboratory geneticists and clinical biochemists, and medical oncologists, our dedicated team of certified technologists, technicians, and administrative professionals is committed to delivering premier testing and support services tailored to your clinical trial and research initiatives.
Research
and Biobanking
Through our laboratory services and network, we have strong involvement in the Toronto research community. We provide laboratory services to researchers at surrounding hospitals, the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI) of Sinai Health, and the University of Toronto.
Your research goals may not require all the effort and expense of a fully integrated prospective study. To assist you in validating a hypothesis or bolstering a study n-size, we offer customized sample collection through patient populations and biobanked/retrospective samples. We can provide access to highly characterized human specimens, collected according to strict Standard Operating Procedures and ethical guidelines, as well as providing individual project collection services.
