KNOVA Prenatal Test Non-invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT)

KNOVA Prenatal Cell-Free DNA Screening can help identify pregnancies at risk for severe, early-onset disorders with just a simple maternal blood draw.

KNOVA is a prenatal screening test, not a diagnostic test and should not be used alone to make decisions about your pregnancy. Instead, KNOVA can help you learn whether your pregnancy is at a higher-than-average risk for a severe disorder, giving you the option to pursue additional testing if necessary. Because the KNOVA test is non-invasive, it is considered relatively low-risk and can be a great first option for testing.

• Patients eligible for the FULL KNOVA panel include those with singleton pregnancies of at least 10 weeks gestation.

• Twin pregnancies and IVF pregnancies using an egg donor are not eligible for this testing.

• Higher order multiples (triplets and higher) are not eligible for this test.

• Testing cannot be performed for cases with a history of egg donor, fetal demise, vanishing twin, or reduction.

To be eligible for the KNOVA NIPT from Mount Sinai Services, first speak with your family doctor, obstetrician, or genetic counsellor. MSS offers the KNOVA Prenatal NIPT to low-risk and high-risk privately paying patients.

Please see our respective patient ordering guides for MSH and non-MSH patients to receive this test through your healthcare provider. You must be at least 10 weeks gestation for the blood draw. Results will be provided to your healthcare provider.

Please note that low-risk and high-risk pregnancy patients are not candidates for the Ministry of Health KNOVA NIPT reimbursement.
